How does it help plants?
Seaweed tonics work beyond simple nutrition. They support plants and soil in several ways:
- Foliar application lets nutrients and bioactive compounds absorb through leaves. Soil application works directly on root systems.
- Seaweed compounds boost nutrient availability and microbial activity in soil.
- Seaweed extracts help plants handle drought, wind, salinity, and temperature swings.
- Polysaccharides like alginate improve soil structure, water retention, aeration, and root growth.
What seaweed tonic contains
Micronutrients and trace minerals: Seaweed supplies nutrients that fill gaps in regular fertiliser programmes. Check your product label to see if it replaces balanced fertiliser or supplements it.
Plant growth compounds: Seaweed extracts support root development and stress tolerance through naturally occurring bioactive compounds.
Amino acids: These build plant structure and fuel metabolism. They also feed soil microbes.
Soil microbes: Seaweed compounds create conditions where beneficial soil organisms thrive, speeding nutrient cycling and improving soil health.
Polysaccharides: These carbohydrates strengthen soil condition and support normal plant growth.
